Ridders te paard at Indoor Medieval Festival Breda

Shot some pics last weekend at the Ridderstepaard Indoor Medieval Festival at Breda, and it was fun! Only brought the 35mm Fujinon with me and a 6500K continuous light source. Now this means daylight, wich didn’t help much in a scene were stage-lights are used. Looks like a flash on a sexclub-lounge, so I left it mainly unused.

Because of the available darkness in the medieval village I had to open the aperture to F2 or less, so autofocus seemed useless here. Filmsensitivity and shutterspeed are crucial in circumstances like this, and that’s why De Fuji X is such a useful old-school camera if it comes to manual dialing. Not to omit to mention the manual-focus features of the camera.

Reason to push it to the limits and to focus on the hovering elements instead of the subject (like Nigel in this case) and to keep as much available darkness as possible without loosing clarity.
